Thin edge of the wedge stuff; always funny until someone tries to one-up on this and has a different result.

Remember Michael Jackson's potentially disastrous baby stunt?

I wonder if they are related?

I saw a cute baby in a pan - kinda reminded me of Anne Geddes if she had a darker side.

Was the baby in danger? no
Did anyone get hurt? no
Was the joke in bad taste? Maybe

I don't get why it's just a big deal.

I think it's stupid. Borderline sick, but not funny at all. Also not original, as parents have done this before and even killed children with their stupidity.

To be fair - the grandparent did it as a joke.

The links posted have nothing to do as a joke. One was on drugs and didn't remember, the other was sentenced to life in prison for murder.

Quite true. But where do you draw the line of what is funny?

Is posting a fake picture of raping a baby funny? No? Why not?

Is staging a fake car accident to mess with first responders funny? No? Why not?

Different strokes for different folks. I don't see the humor, although I wasn't offended by it either. Just thought it was dumb and tasteless, considering the back story

The "line" should be drawn at whether there's a risk to the participants at that time.

In this specific case, there's no risk whatsoever to the baby, so comparing it to events where a risk might occur is not a legitimate comparison.

Here is another joke that may have gone too far...

What? I fail to see how pinning a dog to the wall by it's neck is funny.

Same here, and I also fail to see how putting a baby in the oven is funny either. Both are meant to get a rise out of people, I suppose. Hopefully the picture was photoshopped and/or the dog wasn't hurt. Either way, I don't find it funny.

One is being choked and the other is lying in a big pan. There is a huge difference. It's only cruel for the baby if you close the door and turn it on.

It's probably photoshopped or at least the dog is held in such a way that it isn't being chocked. I suspect photoshopped because you can see feet behind the door. If something serious was going on they would be peaking around the door.

Either way, I think pretending to cook a baby is worse than pretending to hurt a dog. Obviously, if the guy was actually hurting the dog, it's far worse.
