Summit Energy

Post by graham2007 »

Last night i had a pushy salesman from summit energy at my door.. saying they will guarantee prices of gas for five years.
Has anyone heard of this and if so is this really as good as the salesman made it out to be ??
Any input would be great.. as to go with Summit or just stay with Fortis ?? is this just simply a money grab from summit ??

RUN AWAY!!!! scam scam scam
Research it, Olsen on your side and several programs showing how people get stuck in way too high priced contracts.
Give them nothing, no info what so ever!!

You are guaranteed a certain rate. If the price of gas goes up , you win. If it goes down you loose. ( Like I did ) Someone who was living in my home 5 years ago thought it was a good deal and signed up ( even though the gas acct was in my name ? ) , well the price of gas went down and for the past 3 years I have enjoyed PAYING MUCH MORE FOR MY GAS than every one else.
Thankfully my contract was over last month. Reminds me to check my next bill to make sure they haven't done some auto re-sign-up scam. I suspect they go out to get new suckers whenever the price is high.

Just checked my bill. Prior to Nov 1 I was paying 9.8 per GJ
After Nov 1 , now paying 2.9 per GJ ( now that the contract is over )

Had it been the reverse situation , I might have been happy to be on the program.

My Mom got suckered into that a few years ago, and the bill was in my Dad's name. Figured out that if they got the Fortis bill in my Mom's maiden name they could switch back. It always looks strange when she gets a bill to her maiden name after being married for 40+ years, but they are paying Fortis rates again, and just letting that other contract expire.
