I can confirm that unotelly, the dns service I mentioned on the last page works fine. My free trial ran out and now I'm paying for it. So $8 for netflix and $5 for a US DNS, and I have unlimited access to US netflix. Pretty crazy when Shaw wants $15 for access to three crappy movie channels. Has anyone tried hulu plus?

i am also on unotelly, 8 day free trial.

yes, you can get access to netflix and other american sources as well as british, australia, hong kong and so on, however, unless the channel (url) is part of the unodns dynamo system one doesnt get full access to american or other countries sources like i assume you get if you have a paid VPN sources. yes, no?

Yes that's how I understood it, that it forwards requests to certain sites so they have a US IP, but ignores any other traffic so things like checking your email or maps or ebay knows your real location. I only use it on the PS3 for US netflix which is all I wanted, so I haven't really gotten into the details. Here's the channel/redirect list http://www.unotelly.com/unodns/channels

All the sites like Graboid are just torrent search sites (I used to have a membership just for speed and ease). While Netflix is legal; Graboid and the like just pack piratebay/torrents to make downloading quicker and more convenient as a search engine. It is pretty obvious when the site has movies to download shot by a camera in the theater, or have HBO sending them orders to pull their content.

Well I am still searching for a GOOD LEGAL movie site. The 2 I am using now for free have too many porn pop ups and I really would prefer to go legal and pay. The problem is, the ones I have found, are either no good for Canada, or their selection of movies is poor. Graboid was good and legal (as far I know) with a terrific selection, but I'm ready to move on. Would like to find one that has the streaming option as with graboid you had to d/l the movies. Even going with netflix. ca and utilizing the ability to get the movies from the .com site, then makes it illegal. I really don't mind paying for a legal site. Anybosy have any suggestions?

It's sad, isn't it? That the legal sites don't have as much content/choice.
Your bias suits you.

Does anybody know if IMBd, which I use to look up info on movies all the time, do they have access to watch movies online with a subscription? A premium member? I can't seem to find an answer to this. It's a great site with about every movie you can think of listed, but not sure if they provide a service to watch movies?

Graboid is far from "legal" Sure they say on their site they are as they do not host the content and that makes it legit, but it is just a torret/piratebay search site. You are much safer in Canada using the service than in the USA, but dont fool yourself, it is technically not legal. Again, I will say that if a site is distributing movies and TV that are shot by video cameras or films/TV that have not been released on DVD they are not legit/legal. And like I said when HBO serves them cease and desist orders on there content (and they comply) there is something wrong.

Graboid is great for speed and ease, a nice search engine, but it is far from legal. It is not like the studios/actors ect... get any piece of them. You are paying for a torrent search engine that is packaged nicely.

If you are going to go that route just use Utorrent/piratebay and save yourself the monthly fee. As far as I know Netflix is the only legal distributer of newish and popular content (and like was said it is months behind the illegal sites).

Well thats what I know LOL I saw graboid under legal legit canadian movies sites right there with netflix.
I am getting frustrated with all this. I can't believe there is not a legal canadian movie site with a decent selection.
I went to crackle and popcorn flix (or thatever that is lol) and many others and they say 500 titles or 2000 titles, that is nothing! graboid had about 67,000 just under "drama" alone. *sigh* But hey, I would rather be in Canada than the USA, so won't complain too loudly lol

Remember, if you subscribe to shaw, call in and ask about their VOD service.

If you already have cable/internet with them it's a free bonus, and completely legal.

Where did you get the idea that using a US proxy is illegal in Canada? The whole point of this thread is LEGAL options. The reason your average consumer hasn't signed up for a US DNS/proxy is that it is a bit more complicated and technical, not because it is illegal.
