Re: Forum Photo Contest!
Judging by the trees I'd guess that it's somewhere with a long cold winter and a short cool summer, likely a subalpine area with lots of precipitation. The trail leads me to believe that it is a common area to hike, or was perhaps subject to livestock grazing at one time. That doesn't really narrow it down a whole lot. Somewhere east of Vernon, but West of Arrow Lake, South of Revelstoke but North of Christian Valley. So in other words, I have no idea.

Those are Western Larch trees, aren't they? If so, they don't grow just anywhere ... like - do they grow in the Okanagan? The hills around Kelowna don't seem to turn gold in the fall from them - but they do up around Beaverdell and Idabel.

The're lots of larch around Vernon, but those look like they could also be spruce. I will go with Monashee Provincial park.

Reminds me a lot of an old cabin I used to occasionally canoe/portage to way out in the boonies in northern Ontario.
Your bias suits you.

Larch is more commonly found lower in elevation toward valley bottoms, but I've certainly seen it higher up fading into subalpine fir and spruce.
One of my favorite places is just a few km east of Winfield. It's like a little oasis where the forest turns from lodgepole pine and fir and dry itchy grass to cedar and skunk cabbage and devils club and it's always a cool sanctuary on those unbearable hot summer days.

That narrows it down.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?
