Looks like quiggly holes! It looks very much like the Kamloops terrain, but you live in GF where the terrain is similar. Hmmm, I'm guessing Kamloops for this one.

You would be right - these are quiggly holes aka kekuli or pit houses. This photo is from the Secwepemc Museum and Heritage Park at Kamloops on the north side of the South Thompson River where the Indian residential school is. Its a very interesting place to visit.
