Cops compiled at Cowboys Choice

Post by givenrfarm »

Just drove by and saw one car with lights on, and at least seven marked cars parked at Cowboys Choice. A little strange on an otherwise quiet thursday evening. Any ideas?
Chrome, cowboy boots, and a license does not, a professional driver make!
Horse, cowboy hat, and pick-up truck, does not, a cowboy make!
Twenty grand, twenty miles, and two tattoos, does not, a biker make!

If Cowboy's Choice is on Pleasant Valley, maybe this is it?

Vernon RCMP are on the scene of what is being described only as a disturbance on Pleasant Valley Road.

On his Twitter account, RCMP spokesman, Dan Moskaluk says only no shots have been fired and the occupants are being uncooperative.

Due to the proximity to the highway traffic is being re-routed as a precaution.

A caller to Castanet says eight to 10 police cars are at the scene.

We'll have more information when it becomes available.

Police situation in Vernon

Vernon RCMP are on the scene of what is being described only as a disturbance in the 7800 block of Highway 97 near Swan Lake.

RCMP spokesman, Gord Molendyk, says police were called to the home around 6 p.m. after receiving reports a disturbance.

Upon arriving an individual outside went inside the home.

Molendyk says at that point police began communications with the individual.

He says early reports of shots being fired from inside the home at police are erroneous.

"There have been no shots fired," says Molendyk.

Molendyk says one person exited the home after 8 p.m. and was taken into custody for questioning.

RCMP continue to communicate with the second individual inside the home.

It is believed he is the only person remaining inside.

Molendyk says police don't believe the individual has a gun but do consider the person to be armed.

At one point Highway 97 was blocked off and traffic re-routed along Pleasant Valley Road.

The highway has since been re-opened.

We'll have more information when it becomes available.

If you have pictures or video of this incident, email them to [email protected].

It is reassuring to live in a community where the police (and the subsequent personal safety of every individual in the community) are only one phone call away. That in Canada the police are equipped, willing and able to handle almost any situation is a bonus. A successful solution to the situation becomes THEIR problem, rather than that of the people involved, until the situation is brought under control.
