Why I don't care if Kobe hurts Dwight's feelings.

Why I don't care if Kobe hurts Dwight's feelings.

Post by Thinktank »

So Kobe says Dwight is not trying hard enough.

And then Dwight's father says that Kobe shouldn't say things like that.

And then the announcers and the media make it sound like maybe the Los Angeles Lakers have a problem.

And most of the fans feel worried.

Kobe and Dwight make $80,000,000 combined each year. Do you think it's really a problem
if Kobe hurts Dwight's feelings? Do you think two athletes who make $80 million between them have feelings?

and since you made a point of announcing that you don't care you have made us aware that you do care.

Howard was an average player on a poor team (magic) now that he's with quality player he's looking very average . Plus, they probably won't make the playoffs anyways.

Don't know how 27.8 and 19.2 million add up to $80 million?? (Figures from hoopshype.com)

Do you think thinktank is good at math?

No, and no discussion required.

Then you should have specified it was salary+endorsements when throwing out the $80M figure, which by the way doesn't take into account the athlete’s agent’s fees and taxes which weren't deducted from that figure. Endorsements are fickle - companies can take them away in the blink of an eye if you do anything to harm their brand.

#2. Kobe Bryant
Total earnings: $52.3 million
Salary/winnings: $20.3 million
Endorsements: $32 million

#3. Dwight Howard
Total earnings: $25.6 million
Salary/winnings: $14.6 million
Endorsements: $11 million
