I try to keep away from tomatoes. It seems innocent enough when it's just a few chunks in a salad but pretty soon you're squirting ketchup on everything and before you know it, yep...pasta sauces. They're a gateway vegetable. Or fruit. The science isn't quite there yet.

And before you know it, you're cooking tomatoes to enhance the lycopene content.
Its a downward spiral from there.

Secondly if it becomes legal and people continue to grow in their basements we will have many homes destroyed and no legal requirement to let prospective buyers know it was used to grow as it wasn't an illegal activity.
I am sure brewing beer in your basement does not damage a homes structure.

It's the idiots who do it illegally in our neighborhoods and ruin homes, lives etc. that pi$$ us off.

I can guarantee you the one today was not "legal". I know of 2 in Glenrosa that are "legal" and have no problem with them.

We too are gardeners and agree that more of us should be able to throw a couple in our abundant garden and enjoy the rewards.

I tip my hat to you for having a reasonable opinion on the situation. Having neighbours who have no concern for the home they live in or their neighbours certainly makes life difficult. I agree there are idiots out there who have no respect for people's property and are causing issues. I don't feel there any laws that can get rid of them. I do feel legalizing marijuana for consenting adults will severely reduce their impact though as they will no longer be needed as suppliers as our current system allows for. They are supplying a demand that people can very easily supply themselves if it didn't make them criminals like under the current system.

In every age there have always been people who have felt the laws were wrong so they set about to violate them instead of getting involved in the process to change the laws by obtaining a consensus of their community. All of the violators have always been and always will be criminals. Period.

The only way to make change is to buck up against the wall.
You can position yourself politically or in the judicial system and beat your head against the wall for your entire career, only to realize it's the "criminals" that affect the change...not the suits.
