Except for the fact that it did happen. The cabin burned down and the suspect inside did die.

Hoping to end the standoff, law enforcement authorities first lobbed "traditional" tear gas into the cabin. When that did not work, they opted to use CS gas canisters, which are known in law enforcement parlance as incendiary tear gas. These canisters have significantly more chance of starting a fire. This gas can cause humans to have burning eyes and start to feel as if they are being starved for oxygen. It is often used to drive barricaded individuals out.

Suspect killed himself.

I haven't heard any reports with proof confirming this, have you?

It was'nt surprising yesterday at the news conference when the cops were asked how many "incedinary" objects were thrown in, they declined to say. There is audio of them saying 7 burners deployed so I'm sure they didn't to come out the fact that the audio is in fact legitimate.

Immidiayely after they say 7 burners deployed , someone else says "and we have a fire"

I would too if I was being burned alive. It's rather irrelevant don't you think?

Not irrelevant at all and that's being a little melodramatic don't you think? The cabin didn't explode in a fireball did it? The man had choices and made bad ones consistently and chose the easy way out.

zzontar wrote:That's just too funny. You'd figure they'd have a sniper with a thermal scope who could have hit Dorner with a tranquilizer when he was at a window or door, which is where he'd have to be if he was firing at them, but that would be a plan if they wanted him alive.

A great, armchair quarterback suggestion.

Maybe they could have lobbed teddybears through the window to warm his heart and make him feel all good inside too.

Here come the conspiracies.

I agree with JL.
They knew what they were setting up.
They made it happen.
It was planned.
Executed.

The crooks with uniforms won this one.
They destroyed evidence.
Now they'll do their "organized" cover-up.
It's pretty much routine now, no?

He might have killed himself, but they don't know that for sure yet as they state at 2:16 of the video. It's always good to check out the facts you're presenting first, good thing you're not a detective.

Autopsy results on former Los Angeles police officer Christopher Dorner show he died from a single gunshot wound to the head that was likely self-inflicted
Not a surprising end.

They had thermal imaging equipment they were searching for him with, and they had snipers. What better suggestions do you have that they could have done to catch him alive?
