The game I call "25"

hey all. these game threads are cool, and i have occasionally thought to
contribute but never have until now :)

the name of the game is 25.
or "twenty five" if you would rather.

the game is merely communicating, discussing, but in a subset of the english language.

we can only communicate in the subset, and of course, the subset is that of
words made up of constituent letters.

the game relies on honesty, and really if there is one rule then it is be honest.

of course that is a relative statement and context is relevant.

in verbal conversation, following the requirement of the game, any sentence is
if it is indeed made of words that exist in the english subset of words that
constitute the lexicon of the language that is the game.

in the context of this thread, the entire body of the message, including
quoted text, must of course be communicated in the aforementioned subset.


i originally created the game, 25, as a training tool, and then it was
subsequently utilized as a code.

neither a user's handle nor signature is subject to scrutiny.

the game is a language, the game is a code, the game is an alternative reality
in a sense.

i believe you will find once you engage in the game you will enjoy a new
vision of the world around yourself and within yourself.

i have only let this out of the bottle a few times before over the years, but
still, you never know, now that you know maybe you will detect others engaged
in the game around yourself :)

i have found that in initiating newcomers to the game i am often found to be
delving into the imagined and world of the imaginary.

i imagine if no one engages in the game i will eventually find myself being the
only one contributing to this thread :)

outside of this thread, one might signal ones engagement and/or disengagement
by saying or signalling 'game on' or 'game off'.

is it truly a sad day when a fundamental truth that serves as the foundation for a system of belief or behaviour or for a chain of reasoning is disregarded by the entity or entities that enshrined said truth to start with.

so good to see someone finally be the first to engage in the game with me :)

while this game does not require the ingenuity nor knowledge the cicada 3301 divertissement does, it is here, and for us to enjoy.

I wouldn't call the cicada 3301 a divertissement.....somewhat beyond that.

I'm not worried what I say, if they see it now or they see it later, I said it. If you don't know maybe that would hurt you, I don't know. You should know though, so you don't get hurt, so you know what side to be on when it occurs.

what they say could be a britishcolumbianism.
