Dental fees.

Post by Ken7 »

Wanting to know what the going rate is currently to have a common molar extracted, nothing out of the ordinary.
Further is you have insurance, what do they bill the insurance company.

Please post..Thanks

Depends on your coverage, ours is 70% for most things and 50% on others.
Sorry don't know how much an extraction costs, you would be better to phone your dentist.

And extraction means they yard (pull) the tooth out.......

There is a hard copy of the Dental Fee Guide at the Library; however, dentists are not obliged to follow it. There is no electronic version of it available.

True but you asked a question that there is no simple answer to other than to call your dentist.
As FF said their is a fee schedule but they all charge what they want.

Just ask your dentist if they charge according to the guidelines in the published fee schedule. Asking random people on castanet is about the worst source of information for something specific like this.

Where can I get a copy of the fee guide?
A print copy of the suggested fee guide can be found in public libraries—this is the same print copy sent to all dentists in BC. The British Columbia Dental Association does not produce an electronic version of the fee guide for the public or its members. Patients can direct any questions related to a particular code to their dentists (including asking to see the fee guide) or contact the BCDA Member Services staff for assistance 604 736 7202.

Hop on plane, off to Mexico, have good quality work done, spend a week in the sun, for less than it would cost in Canada or the US.

Was in that situation years ago, found a dentist that let me pay in installments. It can be done.

Been quoted close to 10 grand and not one will touch that amount of financing.
Thanks for the info though
