See only thing on castanet bout hwy,6 shut down both ways for over 2hrs...and they quickly had traffic rerouted far-away from the seen??? well I seen fort end of big rcmp truck pushed-in even the big RAM bumper just squished flat,and a motor bike 10-15feet squished up against tree,n shubs ..So they quickly were getting everything set up 2 have no fault as always.Seen this before in the 90's at the coast cops were killing guys had fast bikes!!!!nothing on news yet either.

One of the things people have to realize is that the IIO has many investigations on the go at once with the most serious probably being investigated first.

As far as "may face charges" goes, the Crown lawyers must evaluate the evidence to see if its possible to get a conviction.

I'm certain the civil courts will have more to do with this issue than the criminal one.

Sad that everyone so many here are convinced that the RCMP are intent on suppressing the truth here. There has been no info released to suggest that. Cop told the bikers that she didn't see them.

yes its just a sad situation when cops investigate cops and it takes this long to ""POSSIBLE"" lay charges
If you were a regular guy and you pulled out in front of someone blindly like this DA FC did you would have been instantly charged;; double standards like this is what drives people crazy and makes cops look bad

1) You base your opinion on "lying cops" on your court friend's opinion. Good idea there.

2) How do you know the cop wasn't charged provincially?

3) The IIO looks at criminal wrong doing as this is the process that the public has asked for being oversight into the actions of police. In this case it looks like they forwarded their findings to the Crown.

How is any of this a cover up or lying?

BEST READ before posting;; first off she was a court clerk for 25 years( tons of in court testimony)
If the cop was charged provincially it would have been through the recommendation of the IIO to crown
so even though you don't seem to get the picture; no so far no formal charges
agreed as they said findings forwarded except as said It should NEVER take almost a year
no one or at least I never said this was a cover up ??????????????? although police have been known over the years to do so

"may face charges" probably because the IIO’s referral standard is lower and for Crown counsel to approve charges the offence needs to be proven in court beyond a reasonable doubt. IIO can't guarantee Crown will approve charges. However, in this case Crown did.

A charge of driving without due care and attention has been approved against a member of the Lumby RCMP detachment over a crash on Highway 6 near Vernon on Aug. 6, 2016, according to a statement from the BC Prosecution Service.

LOL good luck on that ideal;; she drove with undue care and she should be charged as such I don't see where she will lose her job over one small driving infraction although she definitely should receive a suspension with no pay or something to that effect
