Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, those tools won't help the average consumer.
Lots of people on this very forum advising others not to upgrade. How to "hack" windows to prevent an automated update, etc.
This is why that's a bad idea.
People need to get over their mistrust of Microsoft and updating their systems. A bad update you can recover from, it's just an inconvenience. Wannacry means loosing all of your info unless you pay a ransom - then you MIGHT get your data back.
Yes, Microsoft is getting pushy with the updates. But they've got your best interests in mind. They're trying to prevent incidents like this.

I stick to the "security only" updates. I'm on Win 7 tho. Anyway, it keeps you covered without having to install all the other potentially troublesome fluff. For May: http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com ... =KB4019263
A good antivirus should keep you safe as well. Eset is a good one that I use. They even have a tool you can use to check if you're vulnerable here.

Your bias suits you.

Here's my personal defence against WannaCry ...
Nobody wants to hear your opinion. They just want to hear their own opinion coming out of your mouth.

Specifically their prices!
A quick search shows that Mac's are being targeted by Ransomeware too.
You are not exempt Dizzy.
My Wife asked me if I knew what her favorite flower was?
Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

I never said Ransomware nor did I say that there aren't such attacks against Macs, I said WannaCry specifically and WannaCry is specifically designed to target Window's machines.
But in the 3 years I've had my Mac, I've had zero viruses, zero ransomware attacks and just a couple of malware attacks. Compare that to all the Window's machines I've had - the extra bit of money is well spent.

Members back, zippers zipped. Mouths silent. No winner. No chicken dinner.
