I know of one elderly man who did not get the flu shot (did not believe in them) then
he got the flu then got pneumonia and then he died. Probably could have been prevented
had he gotten the flu shot.
I have heard from others that know of people who have died from the flu (I don't know if those
people had the flu shot though).

Kayla usually gets vaccinated against flu but skipped the vaccine this year, her parents said.

Kayla did not have any especially troubling symptoms at first, William says, although their mother took her to a retail clinic and then to the hospital emergency room for a flu diagnosis.

I can't imagine what the parents are going through.

There are many sites that mention it as stomach flu even though it isn't related to a flu virus. Doesn't really matter what it's called when you have it - it's brutal.

You should have read the article - lower immunization rates and not obtaining the vaccines are the problem as well as people not wanting to make an appointment with their doctor to get the vaccine.

Flu shot or not?

Post by preciosa »

Just curious about peoples opinion on getting a flu shot please...it seems less and less are getting it every year. I had a flu shot last year for the very first time in my life and a couple weeks after I got it I had an on going dry cough for three months and I guess I blame it on that injection??? I've never had a cough since and don't ever want it again...so just nervous to get the shot this year.

Information one way or the other here:

More people are getting the flu shot it seems like and you wouldn't have gotten sick from getting the shot - you would have already had a virus or ended up with a different virus. Not everyone can fight off the flu without help.

Have had a flu shot every year since 1990 with no side effects. Pharmacy has a flu clinic on Oct 16th and my friend and I will be there.
