Spectacular sunset colours this evening.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

2nd hottest July ever and driest is virtually first place. No rain was recorded at the airport and few other years there was a trace. Not measurable but maybe a few drops. I feel it may have been a new heat record had it not been for the smoke. It "cooled" the temps on a few days by limiting the amount of sunlight that got through.

Below average on the coast... but yes, definitely hot in the Okanagan.

I think you mean 3rd, and only for Penticton (1985 and 1960 were hotter). If you go by Kamloops, it was 5th (behind 1960, 2009, 1958, and 1985). These are for the daily maximums. The nights were more normal. In fact, the nights were colder this July than last, and last July was the coolest July in 6 years.

Doh! Missed 1985 and that I meant Penticton. And I was here on vacation! Well in August actually but I remember some of the store owners telling me how hot it was in July.

It's interesting how the most below average places in all of Canada last month were in BC. Atlin, Dease lake, Kitimat, and the like were 1 to 2 degrees below average.

And at the same time, the most above average places in all of Canada last month were also in BC, but in the southeast corner. Castlegar was over 3 degrees above average.
