Air BNB Problem

I live next to a house that the owner has turned into a hotel on Air BNB. It started last year and has progressed into this year. They have an ad on Air BNB that states it is a room in their basement, but they seem to rent out the entire house.
There have been two different renters in this week. The first bunch was a family with three children. There was a pool party for 4 days straight with the kids screaming, loud parents and music blasting. The latest bunch rolled in late last night so very little experience with them yet.
I spoke with the neighbour twice about it, once last year and once last Friday. They do not seem to care they are infringing on my rights as a homeowner and suggested I build a wall to keep the sound out? I am pretty easy going but this is starting to get on my nerves, I can not go out into my own backyard without hearing and living next to a resort that is illegal in a residential neighbourhood.
I was hoping for a few opinions about how to deal with the problem.

Call city bylaw. If it is truly illegal they should be able to help. If it's not illegal there's probably not much you can do about the noise. I'm with you though, the noise would drive me crazy!

I feel for you. Now there is a noise bylaw so keep calling the bylaw officer and if they persist with noise after 10 pm or before 7 am call the police. I have just done that and all quiet now . Good luck.

Funny story, there is a trend going on where porn production places are using air bnb for their "Movies".

Do all the guys above suggested, however if it was me I'd go a step further and return the favor, some nice loud new kids on the block all day long should get the point across lol.

Gosh, I feel for you, that is really rough. I think eventually we will see cities do something about this because the rental market is so poor. I agree about by-law, and start taping the noise and documenting your issues with an Ipad.

Get a bunch of old video cameras. Those big old ones that recorded onto tape. They're worthless but they are large and obvious. Set them all up along the perimeter of your yard that you share with your neighbor.
Point them all to the house and yard.
Make it very obvious.
The more cameras the better.
Don't record anything.
Just store your outdoor cameras on poles in your yard.

Had a drug house next door that was bought up and turned in to an airbnb. Since then, there have been loud harleys and loud parties and a large tree branch fallen on to my property. It isn't much better than the drug house... just no dead bodies being wheeled out... yet.

Weren't you going to do that big project? You know the one, that project where you take pieces of wood and turn them into smaller pieces of wood with a chop saw. Of course, you have to do this at 7:00am before it gets too hot. Remember, it's also not at all your fault that your dinnertime is different from theirs leaving the only time to use the compressor and air gun is while they're eating outside. I mean, naturally, you need to fasten all those smaller pieces of wood together from your earlier project.

It helps to run a leaf blower from 9pm to 11pm. An old one. A really noisy old one. Just before the noise curfew. But while the air is cooling down a touch.
