What was wrong with the old Vernon signs?

What a waste of money! The old signs looked more durable and inviting. What's another $86,000 of tax payer's money, anyway?

Agree there was nothing wrong although they needed a few repairs etc ;; I can tell you as a person who can do just about anything building or mechanical wise there is no way this revamp should have cost any where near 86K;; what you have here is total incompetence on the part of the city council and the people responsible for allowing the contracts let on theses signs
its ridiculous but it is what it is:: every thing the city does is handled in this same inept manner

What do they care? It's not like they're spending their own money.

Re: What was wrong with the old Vernon signs?
If the City paid $86,000 for the new signs, then that's $86,000 added to the local economy.
If the City had only paid, say, $20,000 for the new signs, then the local economy would not have had as much money added to it.
What's wrong, you people? Don't you want to make Vernon great again?

The ""R"" has been missing from the Hy 6 sign for the last 3 weeks;; I wonder how long it will take the city brain surgeons to figure that out and have it replaced
