What he did was find himself in a war zone he was taken to by his father while he was still a child. He then made an admission under torture and spent years behind bars being tortured in a place reserved for actual terrorists, adults involved in actual plots and conspiracies to commit murder. He spent years trying to get his home country to uphold his rights as a citizen and take him back.

Yeah I'd wanna get on with my life to. sounds like he's been trying. He's been working. abiding by any restrictions he's been given.

American soldiers captured a badly wounded Khadr, then 15 years old, in July 2002 following a fierce assault on a compound in Afghanistan in which a U.S. special forces soldier was killed. Khadr later said he pleaded guilty before the commission to throwing the deadly grenade as a way out of American detention.

When a military force assaults a village (you can imagine the Blackhawks laying covering fire, marines dropping from the copters and engaging in search and kill operations) it should be expected the villagers, including boys as young as Khadr, will try to defend themselves. You might even suffer a casualty despite having overwhelming military superiority. Of course, once the terribly lop-sided fight is over, any survivors who dared to fight back can be labelled terrorists and as such be eligible to be detained indefinitely and tortured for information and denied all legal rights. Not our finest moment, and it cost us.

Khadr doesn't know the meaning of freedom. The whole family are al-Qaida. His sister married a Canadian who is now a Taliban hostage? *bleep*. Part of Islam is to lie for the purposes of deception. I say, give him some freedom, let the tapes roll and if he gets out of line, strap him to a missle and fire away. I am sure everything he does will be monitored.

What his family are, or aren't, should not and does not relate to whether Omar's restrictions should be relaxed. What truly makes me chuckle is the accusations that he's simply lying to everyone. We have professionals working with him regularly, yet it's someone on here who just hates Muslims so much that you assume that he's lying. We should be thankful that our justice system operates the way it does, not through assumptions and guessing like the way some of you seem to wish it did.

"Zaynab Khadr, 37, who recently had a fourth child in Egypt, according to court filings obtained by The Canadian Press, was detained in Turkey a year ago for an expired visa. She and her fourth husband subsequently moved to Malaysia but are now said to be living in Sudan and planning to visit Canada."

His sister is living in one of only 3 countries in the world that the US has "determined by the Secretary of State to have repeatedly provided support for acts of international terrorism".

So all residents of Sudan are terrorists now?

We do not have a justice system. We have a legal system. My opinion and I know you will disagree.

You like to put words in peoples mouth by asking questions that are directly for the purpose of furthering your unique viewpoint. So I will comply.
No, not all. But you want me to believe a woman who has publicly sided with Al Kind-of and now living in one of only 3 countries in the world on a state sponsored terrorism list is just there for the scenery. A bit naive.
