Vernon/Bx area wildfire

Post by brandon_18 »

Castanet is reporting a wildfire burning in The BX neighbourhood of Vernon. Anyone know anything about this?

From my place within BX Area I can hear sirens and choppers going like nuts

O bloody hell. Just what we need, more smoke and fires.

Does anyone know what is happening? :200:

On the news just now they said there is not as much smoke now and that the fire appears small.
Lets hope it stays that way.

Thanks for replying. Looking from where I am, can see chopper going back and forth but can't see direct smoke from that area. Maybe because there is enough to mask a new fire,

Anyway, let's hope it is out and done with.

I know I should be joyously jumping up and down in glee as fires are supposed to be GOOD !

In any case, just flippin' jumpy !

Right now, chopper going back towards Lake area trailing a water bag in tow.

Main difference being today there is no wind, which was the main reason the Philpott fire got out of control so quickly.

The CHBC reporter and news reader sounded absolutely disappointed when it turned out to be a small fire.

Glad to hear that they got a handle on it very quickly. Calm conditions definitely made it easier to fight that the Philpott fire.

I see people smoking in our neighborhood by the country roadside (outside their vehicle) and it makes me nervous. It's dryer than a popcorn fart out there.

I just read the castanet news item now

You are so right about that great big THANK YOU, so away it goes to that gent who was so well prepared and on the ball. Imagine having water and hose at hand. He sees around corners, that man.

Suspicious lightning...mmmmm
