Cactusflower wrote:"The upcoming budget already following the lines laid out by the previous government....." There's no way any government would 'follow' a fake budget. The NDP is about to prove that, DESPITE the BC Liberal budget, they will somehow be able to show British Columbians that all is not lost; that there's a way out of the quagmire in which the previous government left us.
the way out is being upfront about everything and letting reviews happen on big projects . also working with first nations instead of forcing ourselves on them . jt has made some big mistakes in that area. and they wont forget. i wonder about the rcmp investigation . i havnt heard anything on that yet

Yet. Just wait until the first sitting and they implement their well thought out and costed policies.
Dang. I'd heard the NDG's were largely sticking to the previous government's budget, but "Cactusflower" here seems quite certain they're going to rely on their own.
Our hopes are dashed again.

Better get used to this until the next election call. Hopefully, we need not wait long.

Well, looks so far that business has not picked up and left BC despite what RWede and other doom and gloomers said 6 weeks ago....

What a sad world you must live in, Walking Wounded. As most people around here know, I'm not exactly 'Pollyanna', but I still have a little bit of faith in my fellow humans.
Business is about to pick up, flaming fingers, just as soon as the NDP levels the playing field and the BC Liberals' corporate buddies no longer rule the province.

Oh good. That's a relief.
Who exactly are his buddies and what industry?

When the NDP get their hands on government, business is always about picking up.

The Central 1 Credit Union is forecasting economic growth will remain healthy in British Columbia through 2020.
The financial institution says the B.C. economy has "fired on nearly all cylinders" this year, with growth for 2017 forecast at 3.5 per cent.
Deputy chief economist Bryan Yu says robust consumer demand is fuelling the growth thanks to surging employment, strong exports and government support.

Re: B.C. economy must brace for a seismic shift from NDP
MJ - short term nothing much changes - especially as BC continues to operate under the BC Liberal budget, taxation plan. So 2017 has little to do with the NDP.
Mid to longer term - not such a rosy picture as business investments already committed to run out.
Plus the NDG anti LNG stance will dampen enthusiasm in making investments in BC.
RBC sees some serious mid and longer term threats to the BC economy. From their June update, they see issues in housing markets - which will be heavily influenced by government intervention (the NDP have promised that), threats to major projects, site C and Kinder Morgan (the NDP are doing that). RBC saw risks from the NDG to economic growth forecasts...
RBC has their June forecast for 2018 showing a significant decline in Real GDP growth and a rise in unemployment....
I am not surprised that Central 1 Credit Union made a rosy looking release about the BC economy. After all, their NDP CEO Wright went to work for Horgan as the head of the public service...
So all that Central 1 spin statement says is that the BC Liberals did a good job with the economy for 2017.
The NDP penchant for messing up the economy is only just starting to kick in. Have they learned anything in their 16 years of exile? Doesn't look like it, but we will see.

rbc should be disbanded for corruption. facts are our logging industry will be kick started. the sale of pot will start more jobs than any pipeline and when ndp put more money in peoples pockets to spend it all adds up to sask being the closest right wing hold out
