Like 99% of the politicians out there he is no different and he entered politics after becoming fairly successful.........nothing to lose. Now tell me that Kelowna's uneducated mayor has not hit the jack pot over the last 3 years without a single care about anyone but himself and his self-serving backers?

I wouldn't call mayor Sugarplum's $92K salary chicken feed - but it's hardly hitting the jackpot.

Provincial MLA's aren't far behind:

Interesting the vitriol put forth because someone busted their hump and became successful. Hard cheese much?

For Mayor "Sugarplum" it WAS hitting the jackpot after his previous attempts of employment or career choices did not pan out.

I’d never heard of Ben Stewart, prior to his tearful, Jimmy Swaggart-like press conference, at which he gave up his hard-earned Okanagan seat – out of the over-flowing milk of human kindness, to his boss, Christy Clark.

Think about what this seat is worth – ordinary MLA’s make approx. $106K. Ministers are approx. $158K. So assuming four years in office, Stewart was giving up minimally, $424K in salary -- $632K if he’d been a Minister. And if giving up the seat cost him the best pension in Canada – i.e. the most payment for the least amount of work – then he gave up close to $2M. Does a guy really do that out of the goodness of his heart, without expecting compensation?

So was the $150K gig was just a coincidence? (BTW, he got an additional $60K per year living expenses, and compensation for travel home, etc, etc, ...)? Like Gordon Wilson's patronage appointment, Stewart didn’t really accomplish anything either. His entire gig cost us a total of $8.4M, and the province hasn’t indicated that we received anything of value in return.

I’m not partisan – I distain all parties equally because they all do this. The thing about Ben Stewart that is the most revolting and gut-churning, is his sanctimonious, self-righteous, pious bullcrap that he didn’t expect anything in return. Everyone knows that he absolutely expected to be rewarded and he was handsomely rewarded – it's delusional to believe otherwise.

Someone said here earlier that he was ‘paid’ for his ever-so-kind-and-loyal act. Many leaped on this, crying libel and slander. Well, here ya go...

So if you folks in Kelowna vote him in again, you'll get what you deserve -- a guy who thinks you're all so gullible that he can tell you anything he wants, and you'll swallow it, hook, line, and sinker.

BRAVO, BRAVO Oldslander!!!

Unfortunately the ones who drink the Ben Stewart "cool-aid" could never see it. I get a kick out of Ben's supporters hanging off his tap lapping it up.

Wolves in sheep's clothing.

Ben and Christy and all the other "Liberal" players owe their political existence to the core of old boys network Socreds still ruling and calling the shots for the current "Liberal" party from the Socred's Kelowna stronghold.

Lest we forget...again...and again... and again...
