How does another contemporary storm make it to 15 pages?

Waiting for the usual bs about refugees that aren't refugees.

Never mind ....

Bahamians terrified as Hurricane Irma ‘sucks away’ miles of ocean (VIDEOS)

Footage from the Irma-hit Bahamas freaked out social media users on Saturday as it emerged that seawater was missing from a bay as far as the eye could see. The scene turned out to be a rare natural occurrence tied to the outgoing hurricane.

“I am in disbelief right now... This is Long Island, Bahamas and the ocean water is missing!!! That’s as far as they see,” @Kaydi_K wrote on Twitter.

Dutch Army used against looters on St. Maarten.....heads up looters!

Marines to act harshly against looters

Image

THE HAGUE–The Dutch marines stationed in St. Maarten have the full mandate to act harshly against looters and will apply force, if necessary, to maintain public order.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations Ronald Plasterk stated this during a press conference on Saturday. “Looters should be aware that we have the authority to act with force and that the marines will do so to keep the order. You don’t want to get in trouble with the Marines,” said Rutte following a meeting of the National Crisis Centre. The Dutch cabinet met about the St. Maarten situation for the third day in a row, and will meet again tomorrow, Sunday.
Rutte said that even though there was still a great sense of anxiety and extreme concern of the people in St. Maarten, the emergency assistance was progressing with speed, not only food and water wise, but also with more militaries on the ground. Early next week another 150 marines will be going to St. Maarten. “The situation is grim, which we don’t want. Hence, the strengthening of the military capacity and the harsh acting against looters.”

Dutch soldiers deployed against St Martin looting in wake of Hurricane Irma

Image
People loot a store on September 7, 2017 in Quartier-d'Orleans on the French Carribean island of Saint-Martin, after the passage of Hurricane Irma. France, the Netherlands and Britain on September 7 rushed to provide water, emergency rations and rescue teams to territories in the Caribbean hit by Hurricane Irma Credit:

Dutch troops were fanning out across part of the hurricane-hit island of St Martin on Friday as shots were heard and officials admitted there had been some looting.

"The situation is serious," Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said when asked about looting, adding authorities were being hampered in their efforts to deal with it as communications were cut off when Hurricane Irma roared through on Wednesday.

Shots had been heard on the island, a top marine official revealed, but said it was unclear where they had come from.

What would you do if you have hot temperatures, no electricity, ie no way to make anything stay cool or make ice, and no food supplies?

This is how all the of the Caribbean is right now, and in Florida, 6 million people are with out power and who knows for how long.

Can you say, The Walking Dead? Because that is the best parallel to what has happened to the Hurricane Irma zones.

See for yourself.

Truthfully, there is so much death and destruction with the two hurricanes, with Jose not far behind, I find the liberal stuff to be quite awful.

Canadians being held hostage by Turks and Caicos.....for wait for it.....electricians!

95 Canadians stranded in Turks and Caicos to leave today

Global Affairs says it is working at "high levels" to remove 95 Canadians from the Caribbean islands of Turks and Caicos after they were barred by local officials from boarding an Air Canada flight sent to fly them home Sunday afternoon.

The flight was set to depart the islands' primary international airport at 4:30 p.m. ET.

According to Air Canada spokesperson Peter Fitzpatrick, airport and civil aviation authorities in Turks and Caicos refused to allow the airline to board passengers. On Monday morning, he said there had been no new developments.

'We'll go get our people' Couillard says

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Friday, from the Festival Western in St-Tite, Que., that evacuations were presenting a challenge in the wake of Hurricane Irma.

"We are very, very aware of Canadians who are in difficulty and are encouraging people to stay safe, Listen to the experts and local authorities, and hang in there," Trudeau said.

Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard said he was confident the federal government would send planes.

If not, "we'll take care of it ourselves," he said at a news conference Sunday. "We'll go get our people."

Near the bottom of the article....

Electricians in exchange for passengers

Rhude said that as he was walking around the Providenciales International Aerodrome he noticed Canadian electricians wearing Fortis T-shirts had gotten off the Air Canada plane.

Should the Canadian government give aid to the islands that have been damaged by Irma? How about Cuba? Should the Canadian Red Cross be allowed to give money to Cubans?
