Not the worst, not by a long shot. Over 3 times as many dead in Oklahoma. Accuracy is not your strong point.

Unfortunately mass shootings appear to be a sad fact of life in the United States; one which has regrettably been "copycatted" occasionally in some other Western countries, but is primarily part of the "American" culture.

But confusing such random acts of violence with political terrorism is a grave mistake. Because they are not the same thing, and therefore need different solutions.

Mass shootings are usually conducted by individuals who have psychological issues and believe they have some sort of "axe to grind".

Whereas politically motivated terrorism is usually committed by folks who have some kind of radical ideology that they want to force the rest of humanity to share. They truly believe that their world view is the only correct world view, and that killing and maiming people to achieve it is not only necessary, but desirable.

You can't reason with either of these types of people. The former need some kind of psychological help, whereas the latter have to either be de-radicalized or killed. And as I'm not sure it's possible to de-radicalize someone, that only leaves killed.

If we can find a way to stop so many of our "home grown" terrorists from becoming radicalized in the first place, that will help solve part of the problem. But we have few options when it comes to preventing overseas citizens from becoming radical.

How do you know he's Christian?

ISIS claims he's a Muslim, his family claims he's an atheist (no religious affiliation), and maryjane48 claims he's a christian. I would say that Castanet posters are the most reliable source of information in the world, so don't ask questions like this. Just accept that maryjane is a fellow castanet poster who has inside information. The end.

Not one thing you wrote above makes any sense.

under nevada law it was infact terrorism .

Under the Nevada statute (NRS 202.4415), an “act of terrorism” is

any act that involves the use of attempted use of sabotage, coercion or violence which is intended to (a) cause great bodily harm or death to the general population; or (b) cause substantial destruction, contamination or impairment of (1) any building or infrastructure, communications, transportation, utilities or services, or (2) any natural resource or the environment.

Note the subtle difference: Federal law focuses on the purpose of the violent attack; Nevada law homes in on the violence itself — the intent to cause great bodily harm or death on a mass scale, regardless of whether it is done in furtherance of a particular cause.

That's a big stretch if I've ever seen one. Now, in your first post today in this thread you said "worst case of non muslim terrorism.in united states ."

to clarify, you are in the ball park, but not not quite. It is not the largest terrorism. Oklahoma City was larger. But it was the largest shooting in US history...

Largest US mass shootings ever recorded.
Las Vegas, 2017: 58+ killed
Orlando, 2016: 50 killed
Virginia Tech, 2007: 32 killed
Sandy Hook, 2012: 27 killed
San Ysirdo, 1984: 21 killed
San Bernadino, 2015: 14 killed
Edmond, 1986: 14 killed
Fort Hood, 2009: 13 killed
Columbine, 1999: 13 killed

namely that Paddock was licensed pilot, and owned two planes. He also had a hunting license in Alaska. More details can be seen in the report below:
