I'm sure "big pharma" has saved more lives then they've "killed"
But that wouldn't be a hyperbolic topic

Nobody wants to hear your opinion. They just want to hear their own opinion coming out of your mouth.

Truthy, no one thinks that. It's just that this topic and that article belong in the New Overdose Solution Thread. Why is this a separate topic from the topic?
And Big Pharma is a double edged sword. It saves and takes away lives.
Is the topic Big Pharma, or just more on the fentaynl crisis and over doses?

As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Big pharma I would think. But there is good news:

and probably belongs here:

A spokesman for Insys said this week that the company is under new management and has replaced nearly all its original sales staff. It says it takes responsibility for the actions of its former employees.
"We have taken necessary and appropriate steps to prevent past mistakes from happening in the future, and are committed to conducting business according to high ethical standards and the interests of patients," the company said in a statement Wednesday. "We also continue to work with relevant authorities to resolve issues related to the misdeeds of former employees."

Re: Big pharma is killing you
Big Pharma is big business, and as such is more concerned with making profits for it's shareholders than in saving lives.
Obviously many of its products do indeed save lives, or at least contribute to improving the quality of those lives. But we'd be fools to forget that their primary business function is to make money.
Many drugs have been "pushed" that are of questionable value, and some have caused actual harm. Yet the companies often get away with it because of their image of being "health care" providers, which seems to put some sort of 'motherhood' cloud around them.
The fact is that almost everybody uses some sort of pharmaceutical product these days; those who don't are more the "odd ones out" than those who do, and that fact ought to concern us. Because we really are "guinea pigs" in a way, as this level of drug use throughout the population is relatively new and we haven't had time yet to fully understand it's long term consequences.
Is it possible that increases in neurological diseases we don't fully understand could be linked to the increase in drug use? Or how about increases in things like cancer, or Alzheimers? Only time will tell but, in the meantime, maybe we shouldn't be so quick to just "pop a pill" as a solution to all our various ailments.
