I wonder how many city staff are going to be required to physically change the signage and at what cost to the local taxpayers?

They should have just written it with Word, and did a spell/grammar check before submitting to the printer to make a "one of" copy.

"We have been installing 30 interpretive signs along the entire length of the Greenway," said communications spokesman Bruce Smith. "The signs are replacing some of the older, outdated interpretive signs that were there."

Replacing some of the older, outdated interpretive signs? You mean the ones with the proper use of English? I can see in today's texting World, where English is an endangered language, the need to replace old signs.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Some of the crap a body comes across these days, I think it would be fun to be a poofreader.

Whatever you find that irks your grammatical senses, you just hit a button, and "poof" the offender is vaporized.

We who make the effort to write well are a dying breed. Eventually, it won't matter.

I don't know if you intentionally spelled it as poofreader, or if you need a proofreader yourself :135:

Either way you can have the job.

1/2 the junk I read makes me wonder how some people passed grade 2.
When I can find several spelling mistakes in a glance there is something wrong. Especially considering that I am dyslexic.

In the world of electronic self publishing, I have found that the relative ease in which one can make one's own work available to the masses results in inferior product.
I have had some novels where the mistakes are so rampant, sometimes two or three grammatical errors per page, that I just give up. It is truly pathetic.
But, in a world where this doesn’t matter, I guess it just doesn’t matter. :135:

This is reinforced in these forums where it is not unusual to see posts that are rendered unreadable by lack of basic spelling, grammar, and punctuation. And, of course, comment on such unreadability is disallowed......spell-shaming is as frowned upon as :cuss: -shaming.

If you'd read the second sentence, you would have seen that it was intended to be spelled exactly as it was. :smt045
