The article states BC is attractive because of our post secondary schools and diversity. The move has zero to do with Horgan.

i'd advise Amazon to do some more due diligence, as there is only one thing the NDP are "legendary" at and that's killing jobs and the economy. Oh yeah, and raising taxes. And one more - disgusting back room deals with the BCTF.

Oh there is yet another too, they're quite legendary at dipping their hands into the tax trough.

The move would have zero to do with having a Liberal Govt too, which is legendary for various corrupt deals and pay-to-play.

GB, Old Techie, I'm including you both in this, MJ has posted a good news story. Come on now, you both must be tickled pink about the growing Amazon success story coming to BC, regardless of political affiliation. :D

Except you single them out for making this good news political and not the OP who tried to credit this to John Horgan personally when the NDP and John had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Therefore based on delivery it just became another day another lie. Balance starts and ends in the middle, not in "do and say as we think"

YEs it is good news, however on the current outlook, this is a hopeful replacement of the mass losses we will have and simply a drop in the bucket towards balancing the scales of loss vs creation somewhere else.

Job losses might be seasonal, Amazon won't be seasonal.

Geez, and all of them know perfectly well no political party did this.

How do you know ndp big john had nothing to do with it. It shows you have no clue who runs amazon and what his outlook on life is . Pretty sad when folks like the right clark lovers cheer for job to not materilize or who should get the credit .

Way too often are governments given credit for gains in jobs and blamed for job reductions.

In the real world, CONSUMERS are the ones who drive job opportunities and job losses. The corporations and manufacturers are slowly realizing that CONSUMERS need disposable income in their pockets in order to keep BUSINESS growing.

A business can stock all manner of consumer goods but if the consumer does not walk in the door to purchase these goods what's going to happen? Doesn't need much brain power to figure that one out.

You're right, I have no history or background on Jeff, but I was pretty sure that Vancouver got picked for it's geographical location and not the NDP.

But for castanet BC Liberal supporters to say that he's got to look out for the NDP, well, I don't agree with them either.

Horgan became Premier in July 2017 - you can bet Amazon had designs for their 2nd BC based corporate headquarters on the drawing board long before that.

Jobs are good and I agree it probably has little to do with what government is in power.

All the more reason not to make bold proclamations of legendary Horkagain having anything to do with it.

I'm more concerned about how many jobs we see on the horizon as disappearing thanks to legendary Johnny.

Yep, nothing political about this. BC is a popular place for tech industry jobs. As some people may blame disruptive companies like Amazon for the death of Sears, those same disruptive companies grow and become big employers themselves.

There’s opportunity in change.

Because he's an idiot. He wouldn't know what Amazon is. What I would bet on though is that the NDP "brain-trust" (all three functioning brain cells) are desperately trying to figure out how to get these new Amazon employees to unionize.
