I like how the issue a snowfall warning AFTER the majority of the snow has fallen, and it's as bad as it's going to get (with respect to the roads)!

7:29 PM PST Thursday 09 November 2017
Snowfall warning in effect for:

North Okanagan - including Vernon

Heavy snow is falling this evening over the North Okanagan and Salmon Arm regions, thanks to a stalled frontal band. Up to 10 cm more snow accumulation is forecast tonight.

Public reports and web cameras indicate 10 to 15 cm of snow has fallen already over many communities since the storm began this morning.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #BCStorm.

I do love my cedars though :-) The nearby ponds are frozen (dog fell through mind you), the creeks are cold (listen to them more than see them to be honest) and the nice weather starts now. By now I assume you are a fat bear calling it a year.

I like snow and look forward to it every year but, I am over it now and I am ready to smell the fresh cut grass again.
I need to go out and shovel the driveway again before it gets too heavy and deep. I don't mind so much but I also shovel 4 other of my neighbours' driveways because they are either elderly, little single women, or mobility limited and need a walker.
Here I go. Where is that hip flask I know I have? Never mind, I will just leave the bottle on my work-bench and the garage door open.

That is so awesome that you help your neighbours like that! I miss the last neighbours we had on our right - they sold to some really great folks but the fellow had a snow blade on his truck and last year kept the neighbourhood driveways and our section of street clear each time it snowed. Which was especially nice as we are a tertiary road (tail-end charlie - always the last road to be taken care of).
I haven't failed until I quit.

Environment Canada fails yet again. It's like warning us that a tornado could hit after it has already gone through.

Apparently there's a risk of a thunderstorm this morning according to EC. Seems a little out of season.

I'm no meteorologist but rain is clear right? If said precipitation is, say white, we still have a name for it...

Satan Dandruff. Or snow.

Still, as an aspiring weather person I have learned to read the predicted weather, subtract 30, divide by two, then (in the winter) multiply by *bleep* tons of snow.

Science !

Heavy alternating winds and thunder (5 min ago). Winds steadying, intensifying and flowing Kammloops towards Vernon fast.

More thunder..... It may be rain.

We all need more rain.
How do we all indeed.

This last cycle of wind may be the last that I will be a party to but it has been swell. My eardrums have already passed the mere lows and highs of our average weather chart, have checked themselves in, and, in absence of science precipitated...

Back to the weather. 9pm, storm seems to have cleared; Best of times downline!

It's, it's coming. The Pineapple Express. Seriously breezy I would say. Damn nip to boot.

It will blow across us (like what is happening on the lower mainland with the rain), and Falkland with the tail of that

OR

It will scooch North a *bleep* and suck up all that arid warmth.

OR

The wind stream (formally know as pineapple) will veer south. Sucking all the moist Artict air towards... us?
