Pot shops operating without business licenses...
https://www.castanet.net/edition/news-s ... htm#212950
Why is this even an issue? If you are operating a business, you need a business license, period. Doesn't matter if you are selling pot or peanuts.
What on earth gives the pot shop owners the thought this doesn't apply to them? It actually applies more to them than other businesses in view of the fact that pot ISN'T legal yet, so not only are they operating a business without a license, they are operating an ILLEGAL business without a licence.
They can apply for their proper license once pot is legal - until then - shut 'em down.

I guess they didn't heed Frank's warning: "Don't get high on your own supply."

Two businesses had licences - how miffed would anyone be to be granted one and then have them yanked. Those businesses shouldn't have been granted business licences to start with.dle wrote:https://www.castanet.net/edition/news-story-212950-101-.htm#212950

How does one obtain a business license to sell an illegal substance? There are many dispensaries throughout BC that were granted business licenses, how is this possible?

ummmm, is this a serious question? I hope it's a joke and I'm missing it but in case you are serious, of course I'm not against people having employment or folks getting medicine once the business is up and running legally and the wares they are selling are legal, but right now not only is pot NOT LEGAL but you can't operate a business (any business) LEGALLY without a business license. What part of this concept are you having trouble with? Do you feel anyone should simply be able to hang their shingle, open shop, and conduct business selling whatever they want, wherever and whenever they want, without going through the proper channels?

Have no idea what you just said except to confirm there's no safety guidelines being used.

If it really is medicine, then it should be sold in a pharmacy. I don't know anyone that goes to the corner store to get their prescriptions.
