What the Right doesn't need from the Left

Post by Rider59 »

We don't need to be respected by you,
We don't need to be liked by you,
We don't need to be talked to in a condescending matter by you
and we don't need a lecture by you.

We're not looking for your approval on anything.

What we need from you is to show up for your shift. That's all.

Then stop being on the wrong side of history. Your economic and political ignorance impacts us all, if you actually had a logical position on issues other than simply being in opposition to public opinion, then we wouldn't have a reason to speak to the right as though they're clueless.
We're not looking for your approval on anything.
Why would you be, are you a child?
What we need from you is to show up for your shift. That's all.
Take your own advice and try again without the condescension.

Are you saying the civil war is high point for the right?

Let's look at the facts on economic performance, Republicans vs Democrats.

You do realise that Democrat and Republican essentially meant very different things back then, don't you? There are plenty of ways to demonstrate that the right has been right in the past without resorting to this common, but telling mistake. Take Churchill, who was rather right-wing, for example.

Oh yes as if the left needs to be respected by you.
We don't need to be liked by you,
Likewise.
We don't need to be talked to in a condescending matter by you
I picked green to show you up.
and we don't need a lecture by you.
Deep down, you do.

We're not looking for your approval on anything.
We don't reward ignorance with approval, so no worries there.

Oh, the best put down of them all, all leftists are shift workers.

I love how "Right vs. Left" has become like a sports rivalry. Cheer for our team, boo their team. Our guys are good, their guys are bad. Look at the corrupt/inappropriate/illegal thing their guy did! It clearly demonstrates that our guy and our beliefs are better. Because look at what the other side does.

No time for it.

What? I'm certain your type accusing Obama of being a secret Muslim from Kenya because he's a black leftist was definitely a start from your line drawing.

Is "showing up for your shift" supposed to be some comment on welfare and social aid?

What even goes for "liberalism" now anyway? can anyone in a direct mammer definatively say that what that is?

The only thing I ask from the left is to stop lying. At least generally it's mote obvious what the conservatives agenda.

Btw, saying that capitalism is wrong amd then turning around and supporting big business and neo-liberalism does not make you a liberal really. What's with all this identity politics nonesense? Oh hey look, first uni-sex all inclusive bathroom.

As a typical Canadian "centrist" I feel left out. :130:
The country needs more of me and less of the extreme left/right IMO.

Do we really want to end up like the States? :135:

Of course, that's what the right needs from the left, humour. There are basically no funny right-wing conservative comedians, all the good ones are on the left. Good point

I actually think there are plenty of us centrists (aka "swing voters") around. However, for anyone taking the extreme far right positions that certain posters demonstrate around here, any ideas that deviate even slightly from their own appear to be left. These posters certainly do not appear to be inclined to give contrary or opposing viewpoints much thought – which, of course, helps to explain their disdain for the value of getting an education. It is probably a good thing they do not feel the need to have their opinions respected. When the best response they can muster to being challenged by some well-articulated argument is “I stopped reading when” and/or “disgusting leftist nonsense”, one shouldn’t expect much admiration.
