Not too many "humans" are worth keeping.

Is there a single reason why you should find this frightening?
On the contrary, think of all the opportunity it brings. CRISPR Cas9 is also just the beginning. Look at the work that people like Drew Endy at Stanford is doing? Or the MIT Media Lab. - places where they are not just talking about editing existing DNA, but printing and instantiating whole new genomes. Medical applications are just the beginning of the applications. Think about the agricultural applications. Local farmers here in valley are already taking advantage of the business opprtunities. Or, as BMW has also foreshadowed, automobiles with living bio-skins for bodies that 'heal' themselves after a fender bender instead of requiring a body shop.

Crisper... Or did you mean CRISPR?
Heard about this on a radiolab podcast. Sounds very interesting.

That was Quirks and Quarks, CBC radio. I think you can still catch it on podcast. Clearly explained in layman terms, a good listen.
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

Yes, Radiolab have done a at least 2 podcasts on this, and many other very interesting science and technology issues. One of my favourite podcasts out there.
