Salvation Army Goals?

Post by Chyren »

This year the Salvation Army in Vernon announced they are about 1/2 way to their "goal" of $500,000 dollars raised for their efforts. They are stating there's only 9 days left to raise the money.

However,

Interesting note,

Last year they were just over 100k with the same message. So they're over 100K over their money last year with 9 days to go.

Different message when they should be stating they're ahead of 2016 numbers. A "goal" is just that.

Stating they are ahead of 2016 numbers does not help them raise more money which is their ultimate goal.

I honestly have no clue where any of your info has come from... They announced they have raised 135k of 500k goal they set out for. not sure where the 1/2 way you've stated comes from? Also no idea where the 100k from last year came from?

On a side note, what difference does it make how far ahead or behind last year, 2015, or 2007 they are? They set a goal of raising 500K and that's what they are trying to accomplish.

The $135,000 was the figure in the news item last year. They are approximately $100,000 ahead of that now.

Here's the current news report:
