Crikey, you have a "Wayne Doll" you worship every day? Send them a Christmas card?
I believe Wayne is down there similar to other Canadian helicopter companies I know about, is because they meet US standards, and the US dollar with the favorable exchange rate. The Canadian companies involved down there have been asked by the California authorities.
Coulson is jumping into the air tanker market much like Conair has since 1969 and Air Spray since 1967. Wayne was a kid when the others started.
Good on Coulson to do what he is doing. I do wish any company the best and no accidents. Tough to operate a business with that much competition.

Why don't you post a photo of Coulson's 737 tanker in action working the fires in California?

Cool... so Alpine has been in the US since 7 years after Coulson.
Want a link to the RJ's facebook page in Australia? Its been playing a drum roll while counting down the minutes until it arrives on Wednesday. Lol.
Seems all the aviation companies have a claim to fame. Wildcat... more repels, Alpine... more bells, Coulson... more haters. Conair... more cronies. I don't see much difference between them. Some lead, some follow - some get it done, others talk about it.
Just like every other industry under the sun.
(Disclaimer: When I go virtual tanking the latest modis detections on the Thomas fire tonight out of KSBA, I'll probably be flying Airspray 489. I could use Conair's RJ 466, or Conair's Convair 47. Coulson's C-130 is still waiting on a paint job in my virtual paint shop. )
No, they don't have to run around trying to validate themselves.

Funny that'd come up. I just started virtually working Wayne's 737 yesterday. I probably could have painted the real plane in less time than this one took me, but here it is on a quick stop-over in Penticton.

Well, if that isn't one of life's big injustices...
Back when I worked under 348 (right) it looked old and tired and I looked shiny and new.

Re: BC company firefighting in California
I was wondering where Tanker 137 might show up first.
It was doing FAA flight tests in July, but I hadn't heard about it since. Looks like it's all ready to go, in the land down under...
(Gaia - that's hilarious, same fight sim ATC name I gave it too.)
