From what i read its a LEGAL hunt.
The Harper's had near 10yrs in the influential position of PM and Alberta had Cons at the helm for 40 yrs or whatever, certainly their paths have crossed and could have addressed the issue.

Guns are federal, hunts are??? aren't they provincial? Cougars aren't considered endangered.

For as long as scientific, rational people remain in office. Hunting a cougar and eating it is no different than hunting a deer and eating it.

Making this a political issue just exposes the lengths you will go to to make anything a political spinoff and push your agenda.

If this hunter was First Nations and was gonna make some headdress or drum skin out of it you wouldn't even bother to post it.

You can bet that there are plenty of deer and other prey of cougars that would be thrilled and pleased to know a big predator of theirs was taken out. So how many wildlife lives were saved by this action? Would be interesting to know. Of course cougars do keep a check on wildlife populations but they also attack humans. Always two sides to a story.

When humans get attacked by animals is it the animals breaking into someones house. Like a burgler or is it humans where animals live roam ?

Laureen Harper showed her lack of class and stooping to below the belt insults. No kudos to her at all.

Everyone has an opinion and although I don’t believe in it, it was done within the law. What I do think is pathetic is the manner in which it happens. They send the dogs out to tree the tired cougar, then locate the dogs via gps trackers on their collars. Once they find the dogs, they shoot the cougar out of the tree. Doesn’t seem like a true “hunt”......IMO.

Glad he took down the facebook post. Makes me wonder why Harper tuned into it to start with. She's the one that's coming up short.
