The recent Story Castanet ran regarding a website ReMax has to estimate what your house is worth does not seem to be as simple as the story implies. Wondering if anyone else has been able to find out what their house is worth in "10 seconds"? https://www.castanet.net/news/Kelowna/2 ... rices-fast

yes, but the caveat is that the house cannot be for sale on the MLS system.

for example if you listed 1374 mcBride RD, and clicked on "address suggestions" it will only show the listing. but if you entered 1370 McBride RD and clicked on "address suggestions" for that address you would get a home value estimate.

Just look at the houses for sale around yours and you will get a pretty good idea what yours is worth.

How anyone thinks they can come close to estimating the value of someone's home without looking at it in and out is laughable. Thinking they can go by area or postal code is just as stupid.
There's no accuracy at all.
It's just another marketing tool in an effort to maintain name recognition and garner new listings.
It's as stupid as saying Queenie's car is parked over there, therefore its value is X.
