I feel the same way about Justin Trudeau. Why are people defending this clown?

You are right, when it comes to empty, meaningless and totally vacuous gestures designed to appeal to those who put value on empty, meaningless and vacuous gestures because it gives said people a warm feeling in their little liberal tummies, no one can compete with JT. He's the king - including using his poor son as a prop on Halloween. There is no one who comes close.

My little liberal tummie got a warmie from Donald...oh NEVER. But JT as flawed as he is, and yes, there is a hard line faction here to remind us all the time how flawed, did the right thing to at least acknowledge wrongs. Acknowledging wrongs is not empty, meaningless or vacuous. That is cynicism at it's finest. When people apologize here on Castanet, maybe for great wrongs, are they to be so immediately dismissed? Or will it depend on which side of the political lineage it comes from?
Disagree, Trudeau's apology had meaning.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

qft, the apology was long overdue. People forget (or just don't care) homosexuality was illegal not that long ago. But to a lot of Canadians the apology meant a heck of a lot.

Well there u go. I thought it was meaningless drivel. But it apparently does make some people feel good. So despite my feelings i guess JT probably did a good thing to say sorry.

In 1994, Trump went to a party with Jeffrey Epstein, a billionaire who was a notorious registered sex offender, and raped a 13-year-old girl that night in what was a "savage sexual attack," according to a lawsuit filed in June 2016 by "Jane Doe." The account was corroborated by a witness in the suit, who claimed to have watched as the child performed various sexual acts on Trump and Epstein even after the two were advised she was a minor.
"Immediately following this rape Defendant Trump threatened me that, were I ever to reveal any of the details of Defendant Trump’s sexual and physical abuse of me, my family and I would be physically harmed if not killed," Jane Doe wrote in the lawsuit, filed in New York.
The lawsuit was dropped in November 2016, just four days before the election, with Jane Doe's attorneys citing "numerous threats" against her.
During a court deposition, Ivana Trump—Donald's first wife and mother to Eric, Donald Jr. and Ivanka—accused the president of raping her in 1989. The private account was described in former Newsweek reporter Harry Hurt III’s 1993 book, Lost Tycoon. It details the alleged "violent assault," in which Trump pulled out fistfuls of his ex-wife’s hair after receiving a painful operation on his scalp.
A former Trump business associate, Jill Harth, claimed in a 1997 lawsuit the New York real estate mogul “attempted rape” and groped her without her consent on various occasions. In the suit, Harth described a violent encounter at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, in which Trump allegedly threw her against the wall of one of his children’s bedrooms before lifting up her dress.

Re: Trump or Trudeau
Seems people here like to pick and choose when rape is rape.
People have been awfully specific about what is rape as opposed to sexual assault.
Meanwhile these same people comment in a thread about Muslim immigrants in Germany “raping” people, and suddenly any alleged groping or otherwise inappropriate behaviour is rape.
And all this because I said “trump is a rapist”
Ok, fine, Trump is a self admitted sexual assaulter with multiple allegations of rape from many different people over several years.
Happy? Now how is he more fit for office than Trudeau? And don’t just parrot his bs about how he’s “getting things done”. Show me your sources, show me the facts.

Perfectly acceptable. 100% nothing wrong with that. Stick to facts and I will agree with you.
Although personally, I wouldn't call 3 people "many" and he qualified his "admission" with "when you're famous, they let you." That suggests he was referring to the concept of people being awestruck with rich, powerful and famous people.
Jason Momoa for example said at a Comic Con that he liked playing Drago on Game of Thrones:
“But as far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that genre because there are so many things you can do, like rip someone’s tongue out of their throat and get away with it and rape beautiful women,” he said. Fellow cast members, including Lena Headey, looked embarrassed while the crowd laughed.
And then in the comment section you see the MAIN upvoted comment with likes is from a woman saying "He is so hot, I'd let him rape me."
Comments like that only reinforce the notion that there are different rules for tall, sexy men or the rich/powerful (nobody is calling Trump sexy).
As for your question... you've posted a different question in this post. Being fit for office is vastly different than what you've asked in the poll or elsewhere in the thread.

LOL at bringing Jason Momoa's hot *bleep* into this. If people are asking for him to bang them then that's consensual. No one asked to be sexually molested by Trump, so non consensual. Big difference....

Re: Trump or Trudeau
Comparing the ‘Trump economy’ to the ‘Obama economy’
The Trump administration likes to brag about the economy. A lot. During a Fox News interview with Laura Ingraham on Nov. 2, Trump boasted about the economic gains during his first year in office, calling it “one of the greatest [economic revivals] in the history of our country.” He added: “I’m not getting enough credit for it.” It’s not just Trump who brags ….
Since February, after Trump took office, the economy has gained nearly 1.7 million jobs, according to preliminary data on nonfarm payroll for November. But once again, the job gains are part of a multiyear trend that started in 2010 while Obama was still in office ….
The stock market
Just one month into taking office, Trump bragged about the stock market. During a news conference on Feb. 2, he claimed, “the stock market has hit record numbers.” We’ve pointed out before that this talking point is a flip-flop for Trump, who dismissed stock-market performance under Obama as a “big, fat bubble” ready to pop. (The U.S. stock market had been rising steadily since March 2009, shortly after Obama took office.) …
The Pinocchio Test
Sanders suggests that its outlandish to give Obama credit for the current economy, claiming that “we can all agree the economy is better under Trump.” The problem is, Trump’s economy owes largely to trends started in the Obama era. By almost every economic measure, the upward trends Sanders and Trump cite began while Obama was still in office.
