What I see with snow removal on Hwy 97/Harvey, is not removal at all. Its just spreading it around and hoping traffic will pack it down. Of course all that does is have packed snow add little melting and freezing, presto you have skating rink (since contractor appears to be allergic to using sand, equals accident claim central).

My idea of removal means the snow banks on either side of the hwy should be getting higher.

Kelowna is ill equipped for snow REMOVAL............only moving it around. Some areas are done pretty well but our roads are getting a lot narrower everyday. Would like to see better than this but cannot expect much more than what they do. As usual, not a single comment from the man/child mayor or any of the USELESS city councilors..........."see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" I guess. Not many (if any) weather related events in Kelowna have these morons say a word of encouragement..........EVER. Oh, there was one from the man/child mayor during the flooding this year......"Kelowna is open for business so get out and spend your money"...........thanks MORON!

Never before has there been as many kilometres of streets for the crews to clean during and following a major snow event.

That said.....I'm wondering if the departments responsible for snow removal have kept up with the purchasing of the proper amount of plow trucks, graders, etc. Or been able to employ able bodies in that equipment. There's more to plowing than to put the blade down and hit a forward gear. (Some here don't seem to realize)

I'm not even all that concerned with the side streets, the rules of priority have been in place for decades. If you don't live in a priority area you should be prepared to fend for yourself for a few days.

WHERE IN THE HE double hockey sticks are the provincially contracted trucks that plow and sand highway 97? Are they building sand castles wherever they stockpile the sand because there sure isn't much grit on the road? This is sheer ridiculousness. I'm quite sure highway 97 hasn't had any kilometres added to although there are more vehicles using it.

I was rear ended the other day(Wednesday) on the west side and the other driver and I were on the side of the Hwy for about half an hour exchanging information and witnessed several emergency vehicles lights and sirens but nary a plow truck was to be seen going in ANY direction. I have not heard a pebble in my wheelwell when I've been travelling either.

With just the amount we had in the small amount of time today , every truck and their operators would now be on double time just to clear it .. And after that where do they put it all ??

If you got the bill to clean just your street , you'd puke .

Suck it up I say and remember , the more we ask from gov't expect "someone" to pay for it .

lining major routes, just where is the snow supposed to be

Driving down Springfield to Benvolin today it was SHEER ICE , light change at Leckie Rd was sliding like crazy was able to grape some grip on side of road. I was driving slow and have good winter tires . The intersection at Springfield turning onto Benvolin totally ICY , COME ON AND sand the intersections, have notice a lack of salt and Sand this year BIG TIME!!!!

more like every year.they should hire guys that know how to get the job done , i am sure a few of them are good, but its easy to see most of them are clueless and useless
