I agree it should go back under the ministry as the bclib corrupt expermient cost us more money .

Who was in charge when the Queen of the North ran into the rocks and sank to the bottom? If the good folks at Hartley Bay hadn't come to the rescue, there would have been more lives lost than just those two. And rocks weren't the only things BC Ferries ran into during Campbell's semi-privatization.They smashed into docks numerous times, the German ferries are moored more often than they're sailing. That million dollar CEO from the US couldn't run a two-hole outhouse, and neither can his replacement, or any of the other overpaid upper management.

BC Ferries was a pretty good crown corporation before Campbell started meddling. I'd like to see what the new government can do to improve this disastrous ferry system we've had for more than a decade.

On March 22, 2006, Queen of the North sank 135 km (81 mi, 70 nautical miles) south of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, when it struck Gil Island at approximately 1:00 a.m. Two people from 100 Mile House went missing. BC Ferries CEO David Hahn said, "There is a real possibility that they went down with the ship." It is unlikely that it will be possible to salvage Queen of the North.

[b]Officials have determined the cause of the accident was human error by three BC Ferries employees neglecting their navigational duties[/b]. Charges of criminal negligence causing death were considered, and a class action lawsuit for the passengers is proceeding while the Ferry and Marine Union seeks to reinstate the fired crew who failed to provide information to the $1 million TSB enquiry.

Exactly. The NDP have put a person in charge of transportation in BC with the same IQ as a house plant. So of course they are going to hand over the reins of BC Ferries back to the government. That's what the NDP do - make insanely stupid decisions. They can't make any other kind of decision, because they are a party full of insanely stupid people!

Sure they could have. They could have hired competent personnel, something that the present BC Ferries management obviously cannot do.

Non factual response. The move to run BC Ferries as a company costs us, taxpayers, a lot less money. BC Ferries books are in far better shape without political hacks trying to be managers.

This is all about the NDP island supporters wanting something for nothing. Nothing unusual about that with NDP supporters.

IF you are really concerned about BC Ferries costs, how about chopping all the stupid extra sailings to rinky dinky little islands that the NDP mandated?

When BC Ferries started rationalizing the service, of course the NDP went nuts, I mean after all doesn't it make sense in NDP la-la land that silly little Mayne Island gets so many sailings at so much cost. 1,000 people. Just have a look at the NDP government and all the idiots they have currently employed. Not one of them could keep a row boat on a strait course.

Because all the ferries that run to the leftist nutbag Islands like Bowen, Quadra, Saltspring, Vancouver etc run on unicorn farts and fairy dust. DUH

Management of a corporation, including BC Ferries, are not union. They hire the employees . Some employees are better qualified than others. That applies to union members and non-union members alike.
