Online 'Nigerian Prince' scammer caught
SLIDELL, La. (WPMI) — The Slidell Police Department in Louisiana say they have arrested a "Nigerian prince'' scammer who is accused of pretending to be African royalty as part of a scam to trick people out of thousands of dollars.
Michael Neu was arrested and charged with 269 counts of wire fraud and money laundering by sending emails to people and then claiming to be a Nigerian Prince who claims they are beneficiary of a large sum of money -- but in order to receive their "inheritance" they must first send him their bank account details. Police say people fall for these scams.

Ah, don't be so hard on the guy, I think he's the one who sent me an apology this summer for all the scams perpetrated by Nigerians and offered to send me some money, if only I'd send him my information.

I feel sorry for all you fools who fell for this. Fortunately, I have to a much greater cause and donated my money to help those poor Nigerian astronauts who have been stuck in space

Gosh, that Nigerian Prince scam is as old as internet. I wonder why it took so long for him to be caught?
Or, could there be more than one?

Like Catsumi stated, that’s been around since the internet began. Who falls for this kind of anyway? Guess people still do...

If you want a laugh, look up Ebola Monkeyman. It details the trolling of the Nigerian scam email people and the things they get them to do.
