I was R efferring to 2 posts back of mine the Rv,s in the driveway comments.

and this kind of snooping around makes the neighbors friendly. Who cares.....even if its there for a week. What I hate is the RVs parked in peoples driveways that is there for 50 weeks out of the 52 weeks...that sucks to see all year round.

I don't get this one either - where would you like them to park? There's RV's and boats parked in so many neighbours for blocks and blocks one should be used to seeing them. I just look at it as to how much fun they are having every weekend. What about those that are retired? People use them all year round and they aren't parked on the street in front of your house so, as you say, who cares?

Just wanted to clarify a few things! Anyone can purchase a "street permit" for their shipping container to be left on a City street. They pay the City for the permit and tape it to the container doors. The container rental company knows not to block fire hydrants and leave room for emergency vehicles etc... This happens all the time and is very popular with people doing reno's for example as the driveway remains clear for all the service trucks/vans doing the work in the house. You can even purchase a monthly street permit!

How is your quality of life affected by where you park your RV? There are numerous RV storage facilities around the Okanagan specially designed for people who don't have room at home or don't want to block their view with their ugly rig. Monthly cost is negligible if you can afford a monster fifth wheel and you can still use it for enjoying your weekends away.

If you have room on your property and are not directly blocking your neighbours view then its not a big deal but nobody can say they are great to look at. We live in a wonderful place with mountains, forests and lakes to look at so why would we want to live staring at someones RV 24/7? The neighbours above our close have a gravel area behind their homes and they all store their trailers and campers on this area. It's like living in a trailer park when you look out but i have never felt the need to complain, its just not a great view as views go.
