The person on the left is Lindsay Shepherd, the TA who showed a Jordan Peterson video to her students and was hauled in by the Thought Police leftist scum at Wilfred Laurier university and told that it wasn't "safe" to show such videos. She said that universities are supposed to be about free speech. Luckily she recorded the entire conversation with the total losers that were reprimanding her, and they were shamed into making an apology. Good for her, though I doubt this did much to change the PC Marxist anti-free speech policies at any university anywhere. Still the same - supposedly universities are about ideas, but only ideas that are ok'd by the Big Brother apparatuses at these universities are allowed to be discussed.

Actually, the trend has been for losers and whiners to quote fake statistics in a lame effort to try and pump up the gross and disgusting NDP. You’re absolutely correct bob, and the trend has always been for the right-wing partisans to ignore and deny any evidence (“fake statistics” – LOLOL) that contradicts their preconceived notions - dismissing evidence from any and all source that is not a Twitter feed from Trump or YouTube video by Milo. But why not? Most don’t even think this is an issue, nor understand (or deliberately choose to deny) the impact the growing income gap has on everyone and everything. It is simply not sustainable, and without deliberate intervention it could ultimately bring our entire system down.

Personally, I believe our capitalist system, despite all its drawbacks, is the best available, but it does need to be regulated, and systems need to be in place to help those who get displaced due to its inherent unfairness. Even professional sports leagues, based on a structure of competition, recognize the need for a system to try and maintain some parity (so their leagues don’t fail). This is why teams that finish last during a season have first picks in their drafts.

Thus, our so-called “mixed economy” that considers ideas from both the right and left side of the political spectrum. What is needed is intelligent discussion with both sides willing to objectively consider the others points without dismissing them as “disgusting nonsense”. Not the best way to engage in intelligent adult discussion – which is too bad. For everyone else though, …

Academics, researchers, university and even high school students are all able to read the data, but the one thing the right hates is evidence from research (unless, of course, it supports their argument). But what are we going to do? How can we even have a conversation about it when the right partisans can’t get past their childish level of argument? Most don’t even understand why the issue even matters (trying instead to frame it as a left vs right matter), and try as we might to enter into a productive dialogue; we just have to accept anything not coming off Trump’s Twitter feed must be fake news. We certainly can’t trust the Conference Board of Canada as a source.
