WFN tax

Post by Bettyb »

Friends went to the Indigenous Winery on the Westside for lunch, when they received their bill it included a tax which was called the WFN tax, any comments on this?

Probably not applicable or refundable if you have a status card.

Nope. You still pay if you are status.

Then maybe they can get a refund at the end of the year?

WFN is self-governed. The WFN tax is their version of GST.

I've only ever seen it on booze at establishments where you are served....sort of like an alcohol tax.

It's basically the equivalent of provincial tax, something those of us who live off-reserve benefit from. And they have an infrastructure that needs to be supported too, so good on them!
