Motorists are being asked to slow down along Highway 33.

At least two vehicles were in the ditch over the noon hour in the Joe Rich area.

A Castanet reader called to say the back end of one of the vehicles, about two kilometres west of Falconridge Crescent, was sticking out onto the highway.

Westbound motorists are warned to slow in that area.

He said about five vehicles were said to be in the ditch along the highway at one point this morning.

Conditions are very slick. Sanding vehicles are now on the highway.

Good luck getting people to slow down on that road, the people going to and from big white drive through there like its a death race.

All it tells me is that you haven't driven that road much during inclement weather, and that you've never driven a snowplow.

How exactly do you determine precisely where the edge of the road and ditch meet, if everything is white and you're among the first to go through?

I saw the picture, and it looks like the rig simply got too close to the right side of the road whilst plowing, and sunk into the snow.

A couple weeks ago, after several accidents they actually did slow down.
To a pount where it toom me three hours to get down from Big White.

Man yer killin me. Been highways plowin for a few years now and its never the road conditions that worry me. Its the morons on the highways that are the worry. Explain to me why 90% of the motoring public is able to negotiate Hwy 33 with no trouble at all but yet 10% end up in the weeds. What is it exactley that the 90% are doing right and 10% that are idiots are doing wrong ?? I will be out tomorrow nite trying to keep the 10% safe. Stay away from me !!!!!
