Why was Westside Road a "boondoggle" exactly? And I'm not googling that union-manufactured garbage.

Well. Let's start with...

Did a few friends of Liberals get the contracts?

Yes, and with the tax dollars they spent on it, competent contractors could have built a whole new road instead of a few pull-outs and a few kilometres of shoulder.

Realllllly....so you now are also an expert on what roads cost to build? How is that Penticton hospital expansion coming? Has it started yet?

If we'd had a competent government, it would have been started years ago.

Being a frequent traveller of that road, there was a whole lot more to it that "a few pull-outs and a few kilometres of shoulder". And the other threads on that subject attest to it.

Keep in mind that comment was from an NDP die-hard who also told a blatant lie about the new tower at the Penticton Hospital not being started when in fact construction had been going for over a year.

Well thank you for finally admitting how incompetent the NDP really are. That road was in horrendous condition already in the 90's yet they didn't spend a dime on it.

Please feel free to notify them of your displeasure, and just how incompetent they are.

There was very little traffic on that road during the 90s. It was not improved one iota during the 2000s until Christy gave lip service to her constituents and made an attempt to do minimal improvements.

You really shouldn't attempt to pass off such a fib on someone involved in the construction industry.

A number of the developments were already present in the 90's, with many people who owned seasonal places there long before that, and they also deserved a safe road.

Face it, the NDP didn't spend any money in the Okanagan because it's a Liberal stronghold, yet regardless of who is in power, they are supposed to be there for all the people of BC.

I'd also have to say the passing up on a quote of sixty-nine million, therebouts, for the bridge, using a stalling study tactic that also cost millions, simply for us to have to spend around two-hundred million, once the Liberals gave the go ahead, is a prime example of how incompetent the NDP were, and it's the same NDP.

Perhaps we should demand full disclosure from the NDP of the time, as to why they so ineptly stalled the building of a bridge that was not a luxury, but rather a much needed replacement for a sinking bridge on the only highway in the area. I've always viewed that decision as blatantly reckless.

One can criticize Clark as much as they wish, but one thing you can't take away from the Liberals, is they provided needed infrastructure improvements all over BC, regardless of what party the location was known for leaning toward.

Not true of course. Anyway, you've said in the past that Ben Stewart did a fine job as MLA and I have no reason to disagree with you on that one. I've only met him once and that was in a park a few weeks ago when my wife and I happened to bump into him. We look forward to him once again doing a fine job for our riding.

^Urbane the operative word I used "was" --- from what I have gleaned from others - some of whom attended the candidate debate, 'WAS" epitomizes Ben Stewart. He 'WAS'.....not "is".....
