Sure, now they admit that the NEB was a piece of trash, but they're not going to reverse any bad decisions it made, such as the approval of Site C and the Kinder Morgan expansion. What a useless bunch of twits we have in Ottawa.........again.

Where would we buy the grain from? The farmers in the Peace River Valley......oh wait, maybe not. Their land is slated to be flooded for the Site C dam. Guess the Cariboo farmers are going to have to take up the slack.

There is 2 other Prairie Provinces that grows grain. lol

All the western provinces grow grain, including B.C.

Well, actually very little where Site C is going, as it's in a valley and grain isn't prone to grow in a valley. It's hard to harvest and prefers flat land semi arid growing areas (hence the Prairies are abundant in grain production.

Very familiar with "forage", but once again, steep banks, not really ideal range land either.

AND because of the slope, it would not be acceptable to enviro-nuts as farm or forage land due to the run-off of chemical fertilizers or animal byproducts entering the fishs' water.

Alberta should add additional taxes to any freight moving across the BC and Alberta border as it increases emissions due to diesel fumes and is a green initiative.

In decent land conditions (not the bottom of a valley like the proposed site c flood land) you can expect to get 2-3 metric tonnes per hectare. The amount of grain needed to finish "grain fed beef" is 15-18 lbs of grain per day for 4 months. This amounts to 1800-2600lbs of grain per head or 1 tonne per head. BC just isn't in the position to change the industry and start finishing cattle, we great at birthing calves, raising them to 600-900lbs then selling them to Alberta because they have the resources and capacities needed to finish them to market.

I am wondering if this might be a good opportunity to set-up a winery in Alberta? Just bring in the grape juice from BC and brew it there as an Alberta wine? OR even bring in the completed wine by the railcar and just bottling and labeling in Alberta? Hhhmmmm?
