Except that the last by-election the Conservatives got 6% and the last other election in the district in which there was a Conservative candidate, they got 11%. Thompson's results are broadly in line with those.
I believe he was a good candidate, but I honestly don't think the quality of the candidates was ever going to impact the results beyond a few percent at most.

Castanet got it right. Stewart won the by-election and the NDP were a distant second. The NDP candidate lost ground from previous elections. Rather than blaming Castanet you should look at why your party has been losing ground.

Interesting article in the Cap News yesterday. Horgan didn't bother to show up for 5 minutes and throw some support behind Shelley Cook. Oh sure, Horgan was 20 minutes up the road touting a school announcement in Winfield, but he showed utter disrespect for both Cook and for the voters of West Kelowna when he could swing by for a quick visit. What an arrogant, self-centered piece of garbage that man is.

Horgan made the timing of the election, rather amusing if he then had "conflicts" in the timing.

Let's be real, Weaver wanted face time, and Horgan knows it's a Liberal area and couldn't care less about wasting his time trying to win the unwinnable. Not great qualities in a leader.
