Hoping to find a witness
I am hoping to track down a witness to an accident I was involved in. I am looking for the driver on the silver ford plate starting with 708 ***. You were driving behind a plow truck when what you thought was ice came off the truck and popped your tire. After it took you out it logged under my vehicle causes substantial damages. I would like to talk with you inregards to this as ICBC is trying to label it as an at fault accident even though this was a moving object that came off a vehicle. If anyone know this person please get them in contact with me. The incident took place on highway 97 between the college and airport inn a Saturday February 17 at approximately 11am.
PS turns out it wasn’t ice it was some large piece of metal

Re: Hoping to find a witness
did you contact the plow company sounds like a section of the bolt on cutting edge came off that would definitely do some damage

So between Vernon and Lake Country? You might want to post this in the North Okanagan section as well, changes are some people from Vernon may be able to help you out.

It looks like a PTO drive and u-joint. That would certainly do some damage.
Someone has to say it.

Does not look like it just broke off the truck, unless it all rusted since it happened.
It looks more like some scrap metal.

Re: Hoping to find a witness
This is likely not practical but if he has the license plate # which it appears he does then couldn't ICBC find the driver? I know the OP says starting with and the last three numbers are not there but maybe he just isn't posting the whole plate # for privacy sake? Or maybe I am 100% wrong.
Praise the lord and pass the ammunition

Re: Hoping to find a witness
I have the whole plate number. ICBC isn’t being very helpful. I was told by the witness it came off the plow truck so I’m going off that. Not sure how fast it would rust but it’s been sitting in my truck since Saturday and it was wet.

The object might have been lodged between the dual wheels and then ejected.
Someone has to say it.

Take that picture, or the part itself in to Western Star Trucks on Edwards RD.
The Service Department or Parts Department will tell you exactly what the part is,
and possibly even whose truck they just fixed or ordered parts for.
Just one of several that do this kind of repair, If nothing else it gives you more info.
It looks like a PTO Pump Drive, or possibly a Live PTO Drive. (Broken yoke it appears)
I'll also hazard a guess that it came off the plow truck that was ahead of you.
ICBC can be such dicks ! Single vehicle at fault accident ????? Not even close !
Good luck, keep us posted.

Re: Hoping to find a witness
If you know the whole plate number the RCMP can either provide you with a name of who owns the vehicle, or contact them on your behalf.
As for ICBC ask to speak to a Manager. Good luck :)
