I see. Then you don't know what bitumen is either. That's why you call everyone who does, "People". But you're right about this ludicrous trade war. Notley should have had more sense than to take on B.C. Almost have to feel sorry for her though. She's fighting a losing political battle with that Trump wannabe, Jason Kenney.

You apparently don't recognize that your track record for predictions, stands at roughly 0-100, so please by all means keep telling us how you see things playing out. [icon_lol2.gif]

I'm still chuckling about your firm prediction, that Ben Stewart would lose in "spectacular" fashion. We know how that turned out.

The pipeline was studied and approved by the NEB and the federal government. Not by Notley, Horgan is the one stomping his feet like a spoiled child and picking a fight against the federal government and the Canadian constitution.
When Canadian petroleum gets to the world market the entire country prospers. People want programs to help the less fortunate, to help veterans, and many other good causes. Where the heck is this money supposed to come from? The sale of our natural resources can help build a better greener future for our Kids and grand kids.

Bitumen isn't Canada's only natural resource; it's simply the one natural resource that should never have been exploited. Those (mostly foreign) oil corporations need to take their toys and leave. Canadians are going to have to clean up their mess anyway, and it will be easier to do it now rather than later.

Name one natural resource that we have that the environuts will not start whining about it and protesting if we tried to extract it in any way shape or form.
The world needs petroleum products, Canada has petroleum. Let's get that to market so that our governments have some money to hire the new teachers people want, build the infrastructure we need, the hospitals we need, the social programs we want, the list goes on and on.

Why shouldn't it have been exploited? Other than lunatic websites, who thinks they should never have been exploited, and why? I assume you are just as angry at Venezuela for "exploiting" their oil sands right? Of course you are. Just gross.

That's a lame response......'Venezuela does it, so why can't we?'
I'm sure there are plenty of Venezuelans complaining about the tar sands down there too, so don't start, okay?

THE 30 SECOND TAKE-AWAY:

Venezuela holds the world's largest oil reserves, specifically heavy oil comparable to the oil produced in Alberta. Once the largest supplier of heavy oil to the US, production and investments declined rapidly after Hugo Chavez's government raided oil funds to pay for social programs. Alberta's oil sands greatly benefitted from Venezuela's demise as energy investments fled north to the safe haven of Canada.

But the tide might be turning. The South American country has hit rock bottom and will likely default in the next year. Disillusioned with 20 years of failed socialism, the people want to see the return of capitalism, prosperity and jobs, seeking out partnerships with foreign oil nationals and energy majors.

In contrast, Canada's governments have moved sharply to the left and are becoming increasingly anti-energy. Some believe that oil companies have no choice and will continue to do business in Canada regardless of policy. But that simply isn't true. Even though our oil sands deposits aren't going anywhere, our world-class technology to extract heavy oil can easily be exported. Lack of pipeline infrastructure will likely cap growth in Alberta and send investment dollars back to Venezuela, which has a much lower cost structure. Venezuela's downfall should serve as an important lesson for all levels of government.

Ah, I can see you’re a BC wine connsour too.

Remember how “fuddle duddle” turned into Fuddle Duck? (Along with the Jacks, another great selection for ‘drive in movie’ nights, https://books.google.ca/books?id=lYOT-A ... ck&f=false)

An’ Rachie’s probably missin’ her Fuddle Duck, so doin’ the fuddle duddle with Li’l Tudeal right now over this wine-bitchiemen (er, bitchiepeople) dispute.

It has been interesting to note the reaction from Rachel Notley to the BC NDP formal challenge to the BC Wine ban. It is essentially, "meh, go for it, we have bigger fish to fry".

It almost sounds like Alberta doesn't care about the wine ban challenge at all, and may actually welcome it.

When I think about it, it could be a very cagey move on the part of Rachel Notley and the feds. If it is shown that Albert can not ban BC products, does it not also follow that BC cannot ban products from Alberta? It would certainly seem so. That is what Rachel and the feds want, after all, if Alberta can't ban BC wine, then BC can't ban dilbit.

Makes me wonder if Rachel and JT aren't playing chess while the hairbrained BC NDPers like Heyman are trying to figure out the rules for checkers (and failing) - let alone play checkers.
The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.

Damn, that's a great look at it hobbyguy. I'm not sure I would give Notley credit for making that big of a play but it's there now as a concept and a darn interesting one.

It goes farther to, lets say they argue that a pipeline is different, Alberta then bans train cars and vehicles transporting "BC Wine" and other products as they do too much damage to Alberta infrastructure. These two amazing NDP parties could make this far dumber than I gave them credit for couldn't they.

when you look at who is playing for the BC team right now, it really is like we have a bunch of five-year olds on our bench (Brain-injured five year olds at that). Heyman is a complete dunce and is totally out-matched by the team on the other side (the entire country). One dumb-ass against an entire country. The good side will win here. What's frustrating is the amount of our money is going to be spent by team dumb-dumb (GNDP) before this pipeline can go through.
