Wow, Kelowna was drier in 2017 than anywhere else in the Okanagan, including Osoyoos! Over 100 mm drier than average!

Wow, Kelowna was drier in 2017 than anywhere else in the Okanagan, including Osoyoos! Over 100 mm drier than average!

Last year's drought is still lingering in a few of those places on that list. This map was made on January 31st though so maybe that big snowstorm in the Cariboo at the beginning of the month helped a bit.

The roads are already starting to freeze up here in Smith Creek. Barely made it up our road with good snow tires due to ice forming under the slush making it impossible to get traction. Thankfully not supposed to dip much below zero down in Kelowna tonight, let's hope the weather man is right or it could turn into an icy nightmare.
