Nobody said anything about consulting forever but maybe if the government had consulted businesses, municipalities, and school boards about the employer health tax all of these problems we're seeing now could have been avoided.

No, I don't. That link is completely irrelevant. The only one who has a misunderstanding is you. Coupled with a completely insane hatred of anyone who has money, to the point of unnecessarily punishing them, which I find extremely sad.

And they could have been consulting while they were in opposition.

You know, instead of criticizing and complaining, work on actually understanding the implications of various courses of action, and be ready to offer a better plan. Something we expect the opposition to actually do as part of the job we pay them for: come up with better ideas.

But hey, that takes a great deal more work than criticizing and complaining, right? And they get paid no matter what, so why bother actually working for what we pay them.

Now they're responsible for a plan, and (quelle suprise) they discover after announcing it they haven't really thought it all through. Interesting that with all this incompetence, their fans here don't seem to expect anything better from them.

^^ The NDP government needs enough rope to hang itself. That takes time but things are right on schedule.

They have been given enough rope to hang themselves but also the Greens. Both are dead to me.

Oh on the contrary, I believe they are well ahead of schedule. I certainly expected it to take a little longer, for them to mess up this bad.

Another one bites the dust:
BC Liberal leader Andrew Wilkinson attacked the Horgan government for failing to live up to a "reckless promise."

“British Columbians, particularly those on fixed incomes, believed the BC NDP when they promised a freeze on hydro bills. They planned accordingly and are now left in the lurch and face higher expenses," he said in a statement. "This is a government that stumbles into messes that cost all of us because they put rhetoric ahead of planning."

That's sounds like the politically correct way of saying, they shoot their mouths off, before putting their brains in gear. [icon_lol2.gif]

Looks like another NDP fiasco has been shot down.

The BC Utilities Commission has rejected the NDP government’s planned BC Hydro rate freeze and approved a three per cent increase for 2018.

The commission announced its decision Thursday on the basis that the rate freeze would have not allowed BC Hydro to cover operating costs and would put the province's 10-year rate plan at risk.

After campaigning on the one-year rate freeze in 2017, the NDP directed BC Hydro in November to change its rate application to the BCUC. The original three per cent increase was proposed by the BC Liberals in 2016.

"I am disappointed the BCUC turned down BC Hydro's request for a one-year rate freeze, and instead, approved the previous government's rate increase,” Energy Minister Michelle Mungall said, adding her government will be undertaking a full review of BC Hydro.

"We respect the BCUC's work and diligence as British Columbians' independent regulator. Although disappointed with its decision, we understand the commission's concerns and will work to address them."

The rate increase will go into place April 1.
