Trump pretty well has espoused the views of the far right and the far left on any and all subjects.

So where does he stand on anything, stay tuned tomorrow he will clarify and the day after he will rescind his clarification.

It is sad that America is allowing this to happen to their country.

Great news. I am sure he will do a very good job. We need more Jared Kushners in government, and less of the bureaucratic spendaholic bozos that Obama appointed.

Wait, wasn't his security clearance just taken away? :135:

And questionable business loans to his businesses, I don't know, seems to be too close to the WH for this.

I wonder if Trump supporters are excited about how much more expensive cars are going to be once Trump starts adding tariffs to imported metals.

It’s bad, first and foremost, because higher steel prices will inevitably raise the cost of cars. Why, you ask? Because American steelmakers will have a huge incentive to raise the price of the steel they make, pretty much just because they can. Currently, most American automakers build their cars here with (mostly) American steel, in addition to some imported steel. This situation won’t change so much as get more expensive for everyone.

It’s also bad for American automakers, specifically, since it’ll give a huge incentive for companies to build their cars outside the U.S. and import them in, a potential boon for foreign carmakers.

American automakers know this, of course, and have long been opposed to any tariffs on raw materials. The American Automotive Policy Council, a trade group representing GM, Ford, and Fiat Chrysler, had his to say in May:

(If) the president were to increase tariffs on foreign steel or impose other import restrictions, the auto industry and the U.S. workers that the industry employs would be adversely affected, and (this) unintended negative impact would exceed the benefit provided to the steel industry from this executive action...

Auto dealers also don’t love it, with the American International Automobile Dealers Association pushing out a statement on Thursday.

“These proposed tariffs on steel and aluminum imports couldn’t come at a worse time,” said AIADA President and CEO Cody Lusk. “Auto sales have flattened in recent months, and manufacturers are not prepared to absorb a sharp increase in the cost to build cars and trucks in America. The burden of these tariffs, as always, will be passed on to the American consumer.

This will also probably lead to a trade war with China, which makes the majority of the world’s steel. Guess who wins in trade wars? Hint: Not you.

From Bloomberg:

A U.S. move on tariffs may provoke retaliation from China, the world’s biggest steel and aluminum producer. China has already launched a probe into U.S. imports of sorghum, and is studying whether to restrict shipments of U.S. soybeans — targets that could hurt Trump’s support in some farming states. While China accounts for just a fraction of U.S. imports of the metals, it’s accused of flooding the global market and dragging down prices.

If Trump’s record on promises is anything to go by, this may not happen at all. Trump announced the tariffs at a White House meeting with metals industry executives on Thursday. But the tariffs haven’t actually happened yet; Trump said they’ll be happening “some time next week.” The stock market, meanwhile, hasn’t waited, and is in the process of informing the president what it thinks:

This article is basically saying, "once again we have the North and South situation again, whereas one economy has paid labour and the other has slave labour."

And guess who went to war? And guess who decided the only alternative was to free the slaves?

Well, America might decide to free the slaves, in China. Eventually. Just to even the playing field. War anyone?

Can hardly wait until tomorrow to find out Trump's position on guns, since him and Pence met with NRA officials this evening.

I found it amusing when he said “take guns first, follow due process after”

After all that BS about how Obama was gonna take their guns, we have Trump on video saying “let’s take their guns”

Thanks queen, I rarely get to read a Fox News article but they're always revealing. I find it interesting that Fox News has a paid employee of the Heritage Foundation pretending to be a journalist, probably why it reads like a political add.

Funny how anytime a group has the word "freedom" or "heritage" it usually means they are Conservatives are steroids. The heritage foundation are possibly the most influential and pull the strings of the GOP. Now it appears they also pulling a few strings over at Fox which pretty much completes it's transition from a pseudo news agency into a full fledged state run propaganda outlet.

I understand the NRA set him straight on who's really running the show (not to be confused with democracy) :smt045

You have nothing to base that on outside of the character of her created on the internet. She is actually a very intelligent and compassionate person. Bernie should have been President but if not him it should have been her. She did get 3 million more votes than Trump.

As it has been stated from within the American government; evidence doesn’t work with Trump (another reason conservatives love him so much). When Bush introduced steel tariffs the U.S. ultimately lost 10,000 manufacturing jobs (some recovered during Obama’s tenure). But hey, as long as you can ignore all the evidence that says this is going to actually hurt you and cause lasting damage to your economy, you can’t let facts get in the way of ideology. Much like the so-called “trickle-down effect”, if it doesn’t work do it again. It does not matter that you make these decisions when you are unbalanced if you were always going to ignore the evidence anyway.

Trump was angry and ‘unglued’ when he started a trade war, officials say

WASHINGTON — With global markets shaken by President Donald Trump's surprise decision to impose strict tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, the president went into battle mode on Friday: "Trade wars are good, and easy to win," he wrote on Twitter.

But the public show of confidence belies the fact that Trump's policy maneuver, which may ultimately harm U.S. companies and American consumers, was announced without any internal review by government lawyers or his own staff, according to a review of an internal White House document.

According to two officials, Trump's decision to launch a potential trade war was born out of anger at other simmering issues and the result of a broken internal process that has failed to deliver him consensus views that represent the best advice of his team.

On Wednesday evening, the president became "unglued," in the words of one official familiar with the president's state of mind.
